1. Out of My Way- Jennifer Drummond 3’15
Jennifer was watching a biography where a famous actor, when asked why his career had suddenly exploded, explained that he had learned to get out of his own way. That is good advice, she thought, and a song was born.
2. Crossings- Hilary and Jennifer Drummond
This song was written at Puget Sound Guitar Workshop in 2006 to celebrate the strength of women at every age.
3 Brand New Day- Jennifer Drummond 3’41
The first verse of this song was inspired by a friend going through a painful divorce. The second verse was about another friend who struggled with his life until he made some changes. The chorus and the inspiration is driven by the concept that we all have struggles to deal with, but we are all also blessed with loving friends and family that wish us joy and healing.
4 Photograph- Jennifer Drummond 3’38
5. Tea or Tequila- Hilary Drummond 3’60
Hilary wrote this song about the choices we all face on a daily basis and how we can change our lives with all the small choices we make. The intention was to help empower people to become more aware of their own choices and how they impact their lives.
6. Mexico- Jennifer and Hilary Drummond 4’42
7. Back in the Doghouse- Hilary Drummond 3’14
Some this song is true and some of it isn’t! It came about as Hilary’s friend Joan, stated that she was back in the doghouse with her husband and that really applied to Hilary’s position at the time.
8. Win or Lose- Jennifer Drummond 3’02
The inspiration for this song came from Jennifer’s sadness at hearing of the many young Canadian men that are lost and changed by war. Thanks so much to Brian Copping for his input and inspiration.
9. I Wonder-Hilary Drummond 4’20
10 We Rise- Jennifer Drummond and Roxie Geddes 3’05
Two women, sitting on the cabin deck with a bottle of wine, comparing notes on their lives, their loves and their losses, agree that it is all a learning experience, and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Okay we were maybe cuter (in a different way) when we were little.
The picture on the cover of the CD was taken in Edmonton, when the sisters were flowergirls at a wedding. Jenn was 4 and Hil was 3. Our little brother was born two days later . That's how I know how old we were.
This picture was taken at the greatest place on earth, Puget Sound Guitar Workshop. The support, love and musical energy we get there every year has helped us not only with our musical creativity, but with our lives and our spiritual growth. Bless all the Harlettes and the other fine folk from PSGW.
